WE GRADUATED!

5/30/2015

Hi Dreamers! So a few weeks ago we finished our time at school, after 7 long years we finally reached the day of our graduation. The last week of school was definitely one of the best. We had daily raves with our whole year, ordered 40 pizzas to school and stole the school mascot and brought it on a tour of all the local schools.

Here's a few photos from our 'Muck Up Day'. It's tradition for the graduating year to run around the school terrorizing the other pupils with water balloons and shaving foam! We ended up being kicked out at 9am!!

Graduation and Leavers Night

In our school the leaving year have a graduation ceremony. You get dressed up, bring your parents and you officially become an 'Old Girl'. Two of our friends even sang 'For Good' from Wicked which was so emotional! The Graduation Committee made a video with photos of everyone from years ago which was funny... and embarrassing! There were speeches from our Head Girl and Deputies, many tears and lots of photos taken. It was such a nice way to end our time at school!

Picture

Where we live it's tradition for all the local schools to have their Leavers night out together in the same nightclub. As you could imagine, the night was a bit crazy! But it was so much fun to get ready together and help each other do our makeup and hair! Jess was in charge of makeup and Meg did our hair :)

Another tradition is that we have to wear our school uniform on leavers' night. It does sound strange, but it's funny! Here are some photos of us with our school friends...

We made so many memories and will always remember our last week of school. It still hasn't hit us that we have finished school forever and will be off to Uni after this summer. But we have made so many amazing memories and friends and have loved our time at school! It will be so strange for us not being together next year as we have been at school together for 14 years! But we are also very excited to see what the future has in store for us! :)

FORMAL 2015

Hey Dreamers, in September we went to our much anticipated Upper Sixth Formal! We loved getting dressed up and had a fabulous night!! At the same time it was sad because it marked the beginning of the end of our school days! We wanted to show you guys our dresses, hair and makeup so if you have a formal coming up you may get some inspiration! :)

Dresses

Meg
I fell in love with the dress on the Next website in the Lipsy department. This was mostly due to the amazing shoulder detail! The high neck gave it a classy look but the cut-outs gave it an edge. The fact it was black meant it was perfect for approaching winter and was also very flattering.

Jess
As soon as I walked into Lipsy this dress caught my attention! I loved the vibrant red colour along with the pink undertones. My favourite part of the dress was the iridescent detail. The fact it was pinched in slightly at the waist with the detail meant it was very flattering.

Hair

Picture
Meg decided to have her hair in an up-do for our formal so the detail on the shoulders of her dress could be seen. She had a messy but sophisticated up-do in which her hair dresser curled her hair and pinned up pieces individually. Lots of hairspray and clips were needed!
Picture
Jess wanted to keep her hair down and have the front bits clipped back in a braid. Her hair dresser did a waterfall braid and made long, loose, wavy curls. This gave her a formal yet relaxed look with the beachy curls.

Makeup

Picture
Meg wanted to go for a golden-silver eye look which was smoked with brown eye-shadow. Her brow bone was highlighted with a white-silver shade. She went for a bronzed foundation look and a natural lip.
Picture
Jess' eye make-up was a silver and black smokey look with quite heavy eye liner. Her cheekbones were illuminated with shimmery highlighter and her lips were a neutral, pinky brown.
Here are a few pictures from the night...

ROME HAUL

3/2/2015

Hello! When we were in Rome earlier this month we both took advantage of the amazing shops and bought a lot! So here is a haul post to show you all of our purchases :)

SEPHORA

Picture
Sephora 10H Wear Perfection Foundation- £12.95
We both purchased this foundation and it took a very long time to chose what colours to get! Jess got a perfect match but the shade Megan got actually ended up not being the right colour for her :( Jess found that this foundation felt really light on the skin yet gave good coverage and a lovely natural glow. However, it definitely does not stay on for 10 hours!

KIKO

Picture
Kiko Radient Touch Creamy Stick Highlighter 101- £8.50
I purchased this product in Kiko and thought that for the price it was amazing! It is very similar to Benefit's High Beam Highlighter and almost half the price!

Kiko Radiant Touch Creamy Stick Highlighter 100- £8.50
I had never tried a creamy highlighter before and so I bought this one. It's a lovely texture as it turns into a powder like formula. It's natural looking and just gives you the slight glow that you want!

Picture
High Pigmented Eyeshadow Infinity 236- £2.80
This is a beautiful silver shimmer eyeshadow with a hint of lilac! It goes on like a dream and has become my  favourite eyeshadow (never stop wearing it!)

Picture
Soft Focus Concealer 01- £7.50
I thought this would be perfect for my under-eye area as it looked quite highlighting! It is an obvious copy of the YSLTouche Eclat and so I was very happy to find it! However the formula isn't as thick as I would have liked. Also even though this is the lightest shade it's still too dark for me (Italian's have much darker skin!)

Left: Eyes 202- £10.90
This brush is great for layering on eyeshadow, I haven't put it down since I bought it! Apply's eyeshadow evenly across the eyelid!
Right: Compact Sponge
This I use for patting on my powder. I had read a tip for dry skin that if you use one of these your dry patches are less likely to show and so I decided to give it a try (not so sure as to how well it works!)

MANGO

Mango Purse- £15
I bought this super cute rose gold purse in Mango and I love it! It's the perfect size for your handbag and to carry as a clutch.
Jess

Red + White Stripped Vest Top
Reduced from £17.99 to £8.99
I picked this up in the sale in Mango and couldn't resist (I'm a sucker for anything striped!) I think this will look gorgeous in summer with a pair of black shorts and high top converse for a chilled look!

SUBDUED

White Laced Grey Jumper
I bought this adorable grey and white lace jumper in Subdued. It is perfect for a casual, Spring look with a denim jacket and jeans.
Jess

Grey Cable Knit Jumper
I've been looking for a jumper in this style for a while and finally found the one I love! I've been wearing this with a white lacy shirt underneath, letting the collar fold over the top and the lace fall under the bottom of the jumper!

White Floaty Vest Top
Is it sad that I'm actually excited to be able to wear this when summer comes?! I love the detail on the back with the crossed over strings and at the bottom as it had a loose peplum style! It will look cute with a pair of ripped jeans and flip-flops!

ROME TRIP February 2015

2/28/2015

So earlier in this month we jetted off to Rome for 4 days with our school. We made some  incredible memories, saw amazing sites, took so many photos, did some necessary shopping and saw a lot beautiful Italian men... a lot. Here is a quick overview of our favourite times in Rome :)

Things we did...

We left our hotel at 7.45am (getting up that early was a struggle) and returned at 9pm everyday. Between that we were basically walking the whole time so as you can imagine, we literally saw every inch of Rome. We visited all the famous sites like The Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, The Vatican and the Catacombs. We were blown away by how beautiful the city was! Everything about Rome is beautiful; the architecture, the language, lifestyle and most importantly... the food. We ate as much ice cream and pizza as possible in 4 days!  Here's a few photos of us and our friends around Rome...
Our favourite places we visited where the Colosseum and the Vatican. We were overwhelmed by how massive the Colosseum was inside! We had learnt of the Colosseum in school and so to see it in person was amazing, seeing where the Emperor had sat all those years ago watching Gladiator fights, the persecution of many persons etc. (not sounding too nerdy...haha!) Also seeing the Vatican was incredible, the interior and exterior of the building was beautiful! Here are a couple of photos around and about the sites in Rome...

Shopping

When in Rome... you have to shop. Our favourite places to spend our money were Sephora and Kiko for makeup, Mango (which is a lot better in Rome than the UK), Subdued (the most adorable shop ever) and all the cute little souvenir shops on the streets. We spent most of our free time looking around these shops! We are planning on doing a haul to show you what we both bought in Rome!
Believe it or not this was actually one of the shopping streets...

Fashion

We very quickly noticed that everyone in Rome has amazing fashion sense and style. They dress simply yet effectively, with a lot of black and neutral colours. Everyone was wrapped up in stylish puffa coats and smart peacoats. Meanwhile, as it was 16 degrees (that's summer weather to us), we were walking around in t-shirts with our sunglasses on! We so obviously looked like tourists! We also noticed that most men dress equally as good as women, where we live most of the boys our age wear sweat pants and snapbacks...

One of the most important things to do in Rome is to grab a coffee and watch the world go by!

Food

So as we said... we managed to eat a lot in 4 days. The food in Italy is so yummy and one of our favourites. As you'd expect Italian food is so much better when your actually in Italy! A lot of coffee, ice-cream, pizza and pasta was consumed and we didn't regret it one bit!
One of the best was a little Pizzeria we found beside the Colosseum where we all got freshly made pizzas for 5 Euros each!! We were also able to sneak in a trip to the Hard Rock Cafe which is always tasty (even more so when there's free wi-fi!!)

Overall Rome is such a beautiful city. We now have the travel bug; all we want to do is to travel, see new cities and meet new people!
Hopefully one day we will be able to...

SUMMER 2014

2/27/2015

A quick throwback to summer 2014, one of the best! Lots of good music, plenty of sunshine, too much ice-cream and a lot of tan lines were obtained. So here are a few of our favourite memories thrown together...

LONGITUDE 18th July

To celebrate Jess' 18th birthday we set off on the journey to Dublin on the luxurious public bus with our friend Niamh (luckily it had wifi). We were greeted with typical Irish rain as we arrived, luckily we had our trusty pac-a-mac's at hand...

After a Starbucks latte (how could we not) we ventured down to Marly Park and entered the gates of Longitude Festival.
Some of our favourite artists were performing...
Ben Howard - our third time seeing him and just as amazing as the other times, he was definitely our personal favourite!!
Bombay Bicycle Club - again an amazing act, 'Always like this' was our favourite song they performed!
Bastille - one word...Dan.
Hudson Taylor - typical Irish cuties!
George Ezra - baby face with such a deep voice!!
Josh Record - new found love for his song 'Bones'.

Overall, we had a great weekend in Dublin even though we got a little burnt! Here is our favourite photo from the weekend...

IMAGINE DRAGONS 22nd August

Imagine Dragons were incredible performing live, we loved them before we went to see them and now we are even more obsessed! Their cover of the song 'Stolen Dance' was the best of the night (no offense to Milky Chance but they were far better!) Here's a video of them preforming 'It's Time'...

THE COLOUR RUN 23rd August

Earlier in the year we decided to volunteer to help out at the Colour Run in our hometown. We didn't know what to expect but it ended up being one of the best days of summer! We were part of the Yellow Team which basically meant we threw yellow paint over the runners (and ourselves).

After the race was finished all the runners and volunteers went to an outdoor party with a DJ, dancing and even more paint to throw!! It was a great finish to a fab day and the end of our summer!
